AppMon is a ground-breaking solution that tracks desktop applications, internet services and Excel add-ins, presenting it alongside cost information. It then automatically certifies this usage directly with the user. This forms a comprehensive picture which can be used to eliminate wastage, limit exposure to penalties and reduce administrative burden.

In a corporate environment where assets are virtual and spread across different servers around the globe, AppMon monitors and reports on usage from a wide range of sources: desktop applications, internet services, Excel add-ins and web documents. This data is then incorporated with existing usage collection solutions to provide a single repository with a comprehensive view of the activities of an organisation or department.

Reduce Costs

  • Identify under-used licenses and services.
  • Simplify the application recycling process.
  • Locate hidden bottle-necks and conflicts in web-services.

Ensure Compliance

  • Pinpoint unlicensed usage of any monitored application.
  • Discover and monitor shared logins.
  • Avoid over-usage of licenses.

Includes the U-Cert Web Portal

  • Allows users to access and act on usage data collected on their services.
  • Highlights services that are being underutilised.
  • Empowers users to cancel services without administrators needing to chase them down.

How Does It Work?

AppMon forms part of the Gecko framework of applications. The framework uses an endpoint agent installed on all machines to be monitored. With AppMon, this agent periodically reports usage levels of monitored applications and add-ins to a central database, where the data is collated. The data can then be accessed and manipulated through the ViewIT data visualisation tool.
