ScriptIT allows administrators to schedule and run scripts, executables and configuration files remotely. This allows teams to consolidate their varied scripts and configurations into one tool, limiting risk and reducing administrative overheads. Additionally, configurations can be set up for different users and environments, providing a comprehensive configuration management tool. Finally, ScriptIT integrates fully with the ViewIT interface, allowing users access to powerful one-click management and reporting capabilities.
The jobs that ScriptIT executes can take virtually any form, from batch files to registry entries. Jobs can be one-off (for example, to gather system data), run on a scheduled basis or run on log-in. The status and results of the scripts are available to the user through the ScriptIT interface, and they can be exported through our reporting tools.

How it works
The ScriptIT module forms part of the Gecko suite of applications. The suite provides a central management solution for a wide range of tasks including application usage monitoring, infrastructure resources, reporting/control and descriptive information (metadata) management. The framework utilises an endpoint agent which operates as a secure platform for the execution and management of administrative activities. ScriptIT installs extra functionality to the Gecko Agent to run scripts and executables based on the currently logged in user and the machine they are on.
Components
Gecko ScriptIT requires the Gecko Agent to be installed on any computers that are to be managed along with a centralised SQL database and web server.
