Gecko ViewIT is a light, flexible data visualisation tool. It provides a highly customisable level of granularity on the data. This allows the analyst to tunnel from an overall perspective into specific data sets, dynamically querying the data-source and returning results in an instant.

ViewIT sets the standard for powerful, dynamic and lightweight data visualisation, burrowing into datasets consisting of millions of rows at the click of a button. No longer do analysts have to wait for outdated reports to run, instead exactly the right data is available with the right level of detail in moments. ViewIT was designed specifically to visualise data from Gecko data sources, but is flexible enough to be connected to almost any database and display data from any given data-source.

How it works

ViewIT works by dynamically building queries based on the currently selected dataset, using either OLAP cubes or SQL. ViewIT then sends the queries to the database it is connected to in order to update its display. For very large datasets (several million rows) OLAP cubes offer improved performance over SQL.

Each ViewIT tab consists of two types of object, a filter or a data-viewer (either a table or a chart). Highlighting data in a filter alters both the content of the data-viewers and the other filters, narrowing the search field and tunnelling into the dataset. The data-viewers are not just simple displays, either, as many data-types allow for custom actions to be performed on the selection.
